Anti-Trump Republicans confront a dilemma: Are they ready to help elect Clinton?
MSN News ^ | May 04, 2016 | Sean Sullivan, Katie Zezima

Anti-Donald Trump Republicans are starting to consider whether their opposition to a Trump presidency is so strong that they would be prepared to fight him in the general election — even if that means helping put an avowed enemy, Hillary Clinton, in the Oval Office.

One strategy under discussion is to focus on helping down-ballot GOP candidates while sitting out the presidential race under the belief that Trump will lose to Clinton no matter what. A more drastic and difficult option: rallying support for a third-party candidate who could uphold traditional Republican positions but would almost certainly steal votes from Trump.

Whatever your reason -- whether it's to confirm your suspicions about Donald Trump and throw them back in the face of Trump supporter, or whether it's to prevent whichever socialist candidate the Democrats nominate from being elected -- it's good to know you are doing your part to protect the Constitution and defend our Republic against the horrors of the secular religious Left.

Thank you.

“I think many of the so called anti-Trump Republicans do want to elect Hillary Clinton.”

Of course. She will perpetuate the essentials of neocon doctrine. Military aggression for reasons which range from investment interests to personal whimsy; corporate welfare; anti-American job and immigration policies; and all things transnational and globalist. The Bush-Clinton years have proven the two parties work together like gandy dancers on such agendas.

They WILL support her, morally and materially. She is on their side and they are on hers.

You sure didn't need us to get Trump nominated, so you don't need us now. In fact, all I kept hearing was that Trump will win with cross over voters. Lets see if you are correct.

Trump so far has less than 40% of the Republican voters and whatever his supporters think he needs to start mending fences quickly and not just those on our southern border. For those whom can't stand to vote for a treasonous criminal or a bloviating egotist there's always Gary Johnson who at least believes in the US constitution.

That’s who I plan on voting for at this point, unless the conservative wing of the party runs a third party candidate.

I agree with a lot of the libertarian views, but they can get a little kooky on some things.

What I find amazing is how he took out 16 other establishment candidates...sitting Governors, Senators, and others,single-handedly, against all odds, with his own party against him, with the media against him, with the conservative punditry against him, etc., etc. Anyone that can do that and prevail can lay the groundwork for us to Make America Great Again. That is what I find amazing. How did looking at the R after Dole, Bush, McCain and Romney work out?

Well, the pick 6 and slot machines have never given interviews, announcing they were jackpot winners. Trump has said he identifies as a Democrat. Find that amazing?

If you were a little older you would remember that Ronald Reagan was a Democrat. You might even remember that conservative Democrat Zell Miller gave the keynote speech at the 2004 Republican Convention.

Here's the text of Mr. Miller's remarks, made on the Senate floor about the need to help President Bush deal with Iraq.

"Mr. President, I have signed on as an original co-sponsor of the Iraq resolution, and I'd like to tell you a story about why I think it is the right path to take:

A few weeks ago, we were doing some work on my back porch back home, tearing out a section of old stacked rocks, when all of a sudden I uncovered a nest of copperhead snakes. Now, I'm not one to get alarmed at snakes. I know they perform some useful functions, like eating rats. And when I was a young lad, I kept snakes as pets.

I had an indigo snake, a bull snake, a corn snake and many others. I must have had a dozen king snakes at one time or another. They make great pets and you only had to feed them a mouse every 30 days.

I read all the books by Raymond C. Ditmars, who was the foremost herpetologist of his day. That's an expert on snakes. For a while, I wanted to be a herpetologist, but the pull of being a big-league shortstop outran that childhood dream.

I reminisce this way to explain that snakes don't scare me like they do some people. And I guess the reason is that I know the difference between those that are harmless and those that will kill you. In fact, I bet I may be the only senator in this body who can look at the last three inches of a snake's tail and tell you whether it's poisonous or not. I can also tell the sex of a snake, but that's another story.

A copperhead will kill you. It could kill one of my dogs. It could kill one of my grandchildren. It could kill any of my four great grandchildren. They play all the time where I found these killers. And you know, when I discovered these copperheads, I didn't call my wife Shirley and ask her advice, like I do on most things. I didn't yell for help from my neighbors or take it to the city council.

I just took a hoe and knocked them in the head and killed them.

Dead as a doorknob.

I guess you could call it a unilateral action. Or pre-emptive or even bellicose and reactive. I took their poisonous heads off because they were a threat to me.

And they were a threat to my home and my family.

They were a threat to all I hold dear.

And isn't that what this is all about?"

The key is the decisive actions Trump will take to "Make America Great Again!"

I have no dog in this fight.

As a citizen, you sure do. You don't want to elect Trump, but won't vote for Hillary? So what do you think will happen if all your crowd feels the same way and stays at home or goes Third Party?

In effect then, you are going to elect Hillary and just don't want to admit it.

Nope, If Hillary gets elected, Trump supporters are responsible.

Like I said, you have seen the polls, and you have seen his unfavorable's. You have heard the never Trump movement say they will never vote for him. Did you think they were kidding?

There might be some that will come around, and he might improve his unfavorable's, but than again, he might not.

That is a chance Trump supporters took when they voted for him.

You can't blame us for not voting for him, when we told you we would never vote for him.

Unfortunately, I had to suck it up weeks ago, when I saw the writing on the wall. That doesn’t mean I’m jumping on the Trump train.

As opposed to democrats occupying the oval office, and filling every post along ideological lines as of first importance, Trump has a track record of selecting based on competence within his operations.

Evaluate, delegate, and co-ordinate with a competent staff to handle the finer details. Build a team of people with the knowledge and skills to drive a project to completion. Conserve the top executives time for critical negotiations.

A person may avoid making a choice; yet, inevitably must live with the consequences of making no choice.

One difference between the two is that Hilliary has a multiple decade record in politics; and, Trump has become the primary focus of negative political propaganda. We will eventually gain a more balanced picture of Trump. As for Hilliary, we already have sufficient negative experience to inform our choice. Scandal, corruption, wealth achieved through political influence.

Trump has a track record of three decades as a public figure. What must be discerned of the person is the difference between the public persona, and his track record of deeds taken over that period. The extended Trump family—former spouses and the children—and members of the business operations, are highly supportive of Donald Trump. Such loyalty speaks to the viewpoint held by those persons closest to the man.

If Trump succeeds to the presidency, and if the country prospers once more, will you deny yourself a share of the bounty, because of your strong convictions? By your words, wouldn’t you feel tainted accepting any good thing to come of as consequence of a Trump success of prosperity?

You are adamant that you will not lift a hand, though the land and your fellow man is at risk, your favorite was bested and everyone else is faulted for that failure. It’s always someone else at fault isn’t it?

You make judgement upon your compatriots. . . whatever comes next, this is a testimony by your hand, witnessed by all.

Sorry, but that’s just silly. If he wins the presidency, he will be everyone’s president. That’s the way it works.
I didn’t vote for Obama either, but that doesn’t save me from suffering the consequences of his actions.

No, but's also a big fat nothingburger.

You really don't get it, do you?

Let's just see if Donald Trump makes a minimum wage increase a priority during his first 100 days, or, for that matter, ever.

Why be so naive?

You'll catch on eventually...

Vote Trump!
