Breaking news: Sen. Ted Cruz is withdrawing from the Republican presidential primary, effectively ceding the GOP nomination to businessman and reality-TV star Donald Trump.

Cruz’s campaign made that announcement in Indianapolis, after a crushing loss to Trump in the Indiana primary. Cruz had already been mathematically eliminated in the GOP race, but had remained in the hope that Trump could be denied a majority of delegates, and Cruz could win the nomination in a contested convention.

Trump is NOT going to lose to Hillary! What defeatist attitude you have to make such statements as a foregone conclusion that Trump will lose to Hillary. Just the opposite. Trump is the one GOP nominee that Hillary was and is afraid of. That is why they were making deals with the GOPe to keep Trump from becoming the nominee. But Trump prevailed so far and will continue to do so.

Cruz didn’t mention Trumps name in his concession speech. Went on and on about how for the last 200 years “we” have the greatest document in the world...the US Constitution. Thought that was a strange remark coming from a Canadian.

One pundit cited by Rush says Mrs. Bill will take 50 states on Nov. 8.

“Trump is going to lose to Hillary the Disaster”

Road apples.

I have said all along that if Trump secures the nominee, I will support him in the General Election. It looks like this has come to pass, so now I will support Donald Trump.

Trump is infinitely better than either Sanders or Clinton, just as McCain and Romney were both infinitely better than Obama. Supporting the Republican nominee is usually a no brainer, and 2016 is no exception.

Trump was about my 17th choice from the Republican field of 17, but that is irrelevant now. Trump will be the nominee, so Trump will have my support.

Trump will be the nominee, so Trump will have my support.”

Excellent attitude.

This is crucial to ensure we won’t end up with another President Clinton — Hillary is much more radical, than Bill.

I would vote for a dead dog in the middle of the street before I pull a lever for Hillary Clinton. Voting for Donald Trump will be easy.

Trump will crush Hillary come November....as long as Hillary is not in prison by then.

I haven't read anywhere that he endorsed Trump.

The closest Cruz came was to say "we must unite now" in his concession speech tonight.

Well, since Trump just got done accusing Cruz’s father of being involved in the Kennedy assassination, a full endorsement might take a coup!e of days.

But I haven't read anywhere that he endorsed Trump. I hope he does that also very soon, to unite the Republicans to focus on winning the White House.

I'm just glad he gave a decent speech and acknowledged that the voters chose a different candidate. Too early for the endorsement speech, which he will give if he wants to stay viable as a solid conservative choice. Give him time to lick his wounds and reconcile within himself that he lost.

If Donald could wear Ted out, Hillary will be a piece of cake. They hadn’t even started to debate, if a dog and cat fight can be called a debate.

Trump’s campaign never went that far. It asked about Cruz’s involvement with Oswald, concerning whom there was much activity that had nothing to do with the Kennedy killing.

Only Cruz actually knew what he did there. He might have seen an embarrassment coming, however. Only he knows.
