There is finally a congressman that is determined to respect and protect the rights and sovereignty of United States citizens, and his name is Rep. Mike Rogers of Alabama. He recently introduced a bill that would restore American independence and have the U.S. withdraw from the United Nations.
It is about time!
The U.N. is a corrupt and power hungry organization of lawless thugs that steals from the U.S. and continually uses its platform to plunder our wealth and attack our position. There may be some benefits for continuing to support the organization, but they are far outweighed by the negatives.
Read about the scandals and power grabs by the U.N. that make our departure necessary,

I think what the US should do is offer to fund the building of a new UN..in Gaza.

There may be some benefits for continuing to support the organizationSuch as? Seriously. What benefits has the UN ever provided to anyone except an handful of third-world elitists who get cushy offices, plenty of hopping parties with the canapes and hookers catered, and a platform from which to whine about corruption and excess in the United States?
I saw a movie the other day about the UN mission in post-war Bosnia, and it basically said the blue-beanies were part and parcel of the human trafficking effort there. Half of the girls sold into slavery were there to provide "services" for the UN mission, and its leaders were greasing the skids with the local skin-traders to make it happen.
I don't know how true the story is, but I wouldn't put it past them. When you put a bunch of first-degree, second-rate, third-world criminals in charge of an organization, it won't be long before you have a first-degree, second-rate, third-world organization.

We are actually pretty useful on the Security council so just getting out isn’t the answer. Just defund everything but Security council issues.

Your tag line is spot on! AND, your comment is excellent too.
The days of the UN’s anti USA positions are over. Agenda 21 was the “poison pill” for the UN. We, the USA, are not to be trifled with.

One time on William F. Buckley's
Firing Line, he had two guests. One was Gen. Vernon Walters who had been the US Ambassador to the UN under Reagan. The other guest had written a book that called for the US to get out of the UN.
Buckley asked Gen. Walters what the UN was good for. Walters said: "Well for one thing they have a hell of a gift shop."
Walters also said that a lot of countries which publicly complained about the US bombing Gaddafi in Libya, privately told him: "We're so glad you did."

Darn right it's about time!!!
Although now that the UN is so virulently anti-Israel I suppose they'll want to stay.

Terns out the John Birchers of the 60s were correct in their analysis.Well . . . I wouldn't be too sure about that. I think they kinda saw the UN as a plot of the "Zionists" (even if they didn't actually come out and say that).

No. First congress tried to shove it through as the League of Nations, but too many congressmen rejected it. I think Charles Lindberg led the fight against the League of Nations.
Congress snuck the UN in 1945.
Last count, every secretary of the UN has been a communist.

Possibly. I researched it and saw no current date or author attribution. The submission was real however.

I have a question. How would our next POTUS get out of Agenda 21 agreement or other policies (based on that we are still a member)? Can ‘we’ pull out of that agreement?
