A smart man would have phrased that differently. Perhaps something like "Trump's jealous of my very beautiful wife" would have been better.

That was similar to the way Cruz brought up Carly face during the VP announcement. His phrasing made you think about Carly’s less than attractive face rather than something positive about her.
Cruz’s pitch is so terrible, he probably couldn’t sell water in the Sahara desert.
