If she was white and the daughter of a truck driver, do you think she’d be par enough to rate Harvard?

I feel bad for Malia, being raised with Barack and Michelle for parents instead of having a decent family. She’s a child and has done nothing political that would justify making fun of her. She’s a victim who had the bad luck to be born into a family with evil, power-hungry parents, nothing more. I see no need to make fun of her name.

This is less about Malaria Obama than it is about the hypocrisy of the Leftists who condemn hereditary wealth and “privilege,” except when it’s accorded to one of their own.

It’s like the utter, suffocating hypocrisy of the Kennedy cartel claiming to be champions of the little people.

Seems Obama and the White House were just fine with the n-word being used on Obama at the Press Conference dinner just two nights ago.

I don't think racism has much to do with this. Obozo and Moochelle are despised over policy and life track records as radicals and over their friends and comrades like the thoroughly Caucasian Bill Ayres and Bernardine (The Radical Queen) Dohrn.

Malia has just about literally no track record (which is an unexpected plus). Unlike Amy Carter, she does not purport to "advise" her dad to unilaterally disarm our country. Unlike the latter day Chelsea Clinton, she does not persistently on a range of issues prove herself to be a brainless twit.

Malia might turn out to be uninterested in or resentful of politics, or quite modest and private as to her own views like Melania Trump. I don't care for Donald but his wife has behaved as a First Lady should. When asked about policy, she deflects all questions to her husband since he is the one running for POTUS and always exhibits the qualities of a lady.

"President Obama’s oldest daughter Malia has decided to attend Harvard..."

That's how it works? I thought Harvard had to accept her.

She's a kid. She should be left alone

I personally don't like gap years. For those who can afford it, get the child starting in a direction and see if it's a good fit.

But in this case, I get it with the gap year. It's going to be a very political year and it's Malia's last year as First Daughter. There's so much benefit to experiencing that role and starting college with less of a spotlight on her in a year.

Oh too bad, boo-hoo, only they can poke fun and insults at people....this is probably due to affirmative action, that she got in....and she’s probably taking a year off to play golf....

One has to be exposed to reality before any form of conservatism can take root. Malia has almost zero chance of ever having to face reality. Chance she grows into a rabid, chip-on-her-shoulder Leftist with a strong sense of entitlement? 99%.

She is just a kid who grew up in a fishbowl. She did not choose her parents. She does not talk about politics. I would not have wanted my daughters derided like this at her age. If Leftists want to make fools of themselves jealously deriding inherited wealth and "privilege," they can make fools of themselves. I won't join them. None of us should. Are we somehow jealous of Malia (not Malaria). Her privilege will not destroy our civilization. Only we can do that.

As to the Klan Kennedy, as a Catholic, I also resent their public pretense of being Catholic when they are anything but. The last Catholics in that family, Mother Rose and her daughter married to Sargent Shriver are now long dead.

Harvard needs to make her “check” her president’s daughter privilege before she starts classes but I doubt they will.

The children of Presidents are civilians. Unless Malia stands up and delivers a peroration on some hot political topic she is out of bounds.

Malia has successfully stayed out of the political limelight. For that, I congratulate her parents and her. The kids are not politicians, for the most part. I hope she does well in school and goes on to be a productive member of society (as opposed to being a community organizer).

My real gripe is the fact that the media and their dem allies always make things about race - going so far as to take a few comments online and painting the whole right-leaning populace as committed racists. It has become a farce, IMO.

If she was white and the daughter of a Senator or a Governor then you're damned right she would. Influence, family connections, parents position, that probably gets more students into the Ivy league than anything else.

You have your values; I have mine. I think the obamas are all fair game, just like the Bush girls and Sarah Palin's family were all targets for leftist spew.

You wanna fight with nerf guns, go ahead. I'm in it for blood.

Maybe but the Rev. Miss Alveda King had about the same chance and has devoted her life eloquently to the pro-life cause after submitting to abortions of her own IIRC. Norma McCorvey (the Jane Roe of Roe vs. Wade) was not brought up privileged but walked away from that evil and others and is now one of us.

If the Good Shepard would leave the 99 sheep to search for the one that was lost, we can refrain from judging before judgment is deserved. Harvard has serious and persuasive conservatives among its students. Pray for her. Don't kick her to the gutter because of her parents. She has not yet made their mistakes. One hopes she never will. If she ever does, we can go after her then.

How compassionate of you!

Will you feel the same about our kids who had the misfortune to be born in a household of loving, hard-working white parents, who not only cannot afford to take lavish and frequent vacations, but are struggling just to put food on the table and pay their ever increasing property taxes?

How about when those white kids go to school and get beat up by black kids because those black kids were taught by their own parents to hate whitey, blame whitey, and make whitey pay for things they had no part of? And the school and law enforcement does little or nothing for fear of being labeled ‘racist’?

Do you have the same compassion for white kids who work hard and stay out of trouble, only to find out they cannot get a job because of PC norms and affirmative action laws? How about the white scholars who stayed off drugs and actually studied in school, only to find out that the college they can afford won’t accept them due to racial and gender quotas?

Any empathy for these children?
