It was hilarious — Ted trying to converse one-on-one with a human. In debating or “speechifying”, he inserts long pauses between phrases or sentences for effect. He tried this with the guy on the street, and when Cruz stopped for a pregnant pause, the guy just jumped in and began contradicting him. Cruz couldn’t complete his thoughts.
