Ron Hartwig, vice president of communications for the J. Paul Getty Trust, issued a statement Monday in response to the lawsuit.
"The Getty is very proud of the highly successful Multicultural Undergraduate Internship program launched by the Getty Foundation in 1993 in order to increase the diversity of professional staff in museums and visual arts organizations in (Los Angeles) County,'' the statement reads. "Over the past 23 years Getty grants have supported over 3,000 internships at 152 organizations throughout the county. We review and revise all of our grant categories from time to time and over the years have made a number of policy and procedural changes to the internship program.''
Due to inquiries from potential applicants as well as internal and external discussions, several months ago the Getty modified the eligibility criteria for 2016 to state that applicants must be members of an underrepresented group, including but not limited to, those of black, Asian, Latino, Native-American or Pacific-Islander descent, according to the statement.

LOL!! I can remember men being denied promotions in the Bell System because they were men.

Yup, time to rescind their 501c3 status.
I can believe it.
“MUST” be members of an underrepresented group. So whites need not apply. I’m so sick of this baloney. Time to fight back against it, hard.
I don’t doubt this woman at all.
I’ve been hearing for a few years now by young, white, blonde college educated women in the DC area that the discrimination against whites is unbelievable.
My bank has only black and brown females behind the counter and behind the customer service desks. Every retail outlet has 95% female, and increasingly non-white.
Discrimination, reverse-racism, bigotry - even bodily harm - is socially (and legally!)permissible in today’s America.
but why, pray tell? why?
Because it is Diverse and it must be cherished!
yep
Is there any study anywhere that shows ‘diverse’ companies perform better than those of 1 or two ‘groups’?
I’d like to see just one.

These days I ask HR to forward me every resume for review. I don’t want Taleo to select my candidates. I don’t hire ivy leaguers or anyone whose degree is not specific to the position
I know a guy in NOLA who couldn’t get Katrina aid because he was white.
We need these kinds of programs otherwise thousands of people nationwide will be laid off due to the entire collapse of interest in majors that include the word “studies” and “science” in their titles
“Diversity”
“Inclusion”
“Multicultural”
All code words for blatant dicrimination against white people
Isn’t it racist to claim racism if you are white?
it will be interesting to see what tack is taken with the lawsuit... I hope they are able to show that statistically minorities are being over representative and that the discrimination has been going back years and has been institutionalized by those that have been hired using the discriminatory practices.

Everybody knows “Multicultural” is code for “No Whites Allowed”.
