I agree with much of what you are saying, and I hope the silly season will end soon. FR should be able to tolerate support for more than one candidate (I voted for Trump six days ago, but I can do that and still admit that Cruz is a great conservative). FR should not have descended to the level where the Cruz-Trump debate centers on personal attacks. That lowering of the dialog is a big loss for these forums. The solution from here? I’m not as optimistic as I’d like to be, but I’ll continue suggesting that we return to facts and drop the personal attacks.
Yes, Cruz is still running against Trump even though Trump wants him to drop out. Yes, Trump is using name-calling as his means for criticizing Cruz. Still, we could do better. Trump will need those Cruz voters in November, and they really do have as many options as the Trump voters have. They may well stay home or vote third party in November if this keeps up. I suspect there are paid Hillary trolls stirring it up in the hope that they will take one of those options.
I hope FR and the rest of the Republican Party will wise up in time.
I never called Ted Cruz a liar all through the "Lyin' Ted" months, but, you know what?
At this point, Ted Cruz is exposed as a liar. He thinks he can gain on Donald Trump only by lying about the man. Ted Cruz didn't start out this way, but now he has earned the label that Trump initially slapped him with.
I can no longer stand Ted Cruz, and he used to be my preference. That's a fact.
That clown, Ted Cruz, has joined with the GOPe, and parrots their hateful character assassination against Donald Trump, and then blatantly lies about Trump's policy positions.
Enough is enough. Ted Cruz needs to go away. He's the most unprincipled, Machiavellian politician I've ever seen in my life.
Vote Trump
Here's the problem - the only chance for Cruz now is for there to be a contested convention - and if that happends, it is far more likely that a White RINO, er, Knight from the GOPe will get the nomination, not Cruz. IMO all Cruzer can be is a spoiler for the anti-GOPe vote that has finally dominated a GOP primary. It would be one thing if the Cruz supporters just stuck to making the case for their candidate - but way too many of them spend more time flinging mud at the presumptive nominee, Trump.
I've been here since the day Drudge broke the L'affaire Lewinsky story and I have never, except for the Great Schism of 1999/2000, never seen such weak opuses
