[[It gonna take iron willpower to overcome my loathing of Ted Cruz and vote for him.]]

That’s the difference between us- I will vote whomever the candidate is- because first and foremost I am ‘neverhilarly’

[[Unless Hillary gets indicted right before the election Cruz will lose. President Hillary is all Cruz’s scummy sleazy vile legalistic trickery will gain him.]]

That’s your opinion, but if you think millions of people weren’t just as passionate as you when the other contested primaries occurred, then you’d be wrong- politics has always been a very passionate issue, and always been hot and heavy and ugly- and you can bet that many who’s candidates didn’t win i na contested said “Never-so-and-so” yet when hte general rolled around they actually did support him as proven by the fact that more people had voted for the losing candidate before the general, and now i nthe general they gained the majority over the dems- Had the majority of those who said ‘never-so-and-so’ (or felt that way at least) stayed home and not voted, the contested ballot winner would not have won the general-

I’m sure there was the same fear then as there is now, that the nomination had been ‘stolen’ from them- to suggest that this is a unique sentiment ignores just how passionate people are about politics, and how heated it’s always been- heck- look at some of the crap said back during the early president’s runs- it was brutal-

If Trump wasn't doing as well as he is and Cruz had managed to get himself nominated at a contested convention it would be correctly seen as the result of a GOPe and Cruz conspiracy to deny the most popular candidate the nomination. That is, a stolen nomination - no scare quotes, a straight up heist in broad daylight. An act of shameless evil.

Cruz and any other modern candidate (forget about anything that happened before 1972, it has no relevance) must satisfy a bare minimal standard to have a chance of winning. They must win the most votes in the primaries. There is no other path. You can wax nostalgic about Abe Lincoln's victory at a contested convention as much as you want. That will never happen again. Modern primaries exist because the people demanded them, because we got sick of party bosses and corrupt hacks deciding for us. Those days will not return without a revolution, and lame duck Ted is not going to lead any such crusade, much as he might want to.

No one will ever forgive Ted for his egotistical and deluded effort to deny the popular candidate the nomination if he succeeds. He will be slaughtered in the general election by any Democrat. Fortunately for deluded Ted - and for the GOP and the country - he will fail.

Go Trump!
