I agree with you that Trump should take RNC money — but will that hurt him in his claim to self fund? He should start explaining soon what he’s gonna do.

Also (if you will) when self-funding does Trump come under the same reporting requirements as the others (the monthly, quarterly expenditure/income data)?

He doesn't need to explain until after he wins the nomination.

I don't think taking money from the RNC hurts his argument about being self funding, because he isn't taking money from an outfit that is directly connected to some specific lobbying goal. If he continues to shun PACs, his argument stands.

Absolutely. He is under those regulations even now. Trump's principal campaign committee ID with the FEC is C00580100, his candidate ID is P80001571.
