America still deserves to know how bad our education system is... Yes, I certainly agree with that! A story reporting that (say) 50% of Americans don't know the formula for water, that would be an important story.
But Watters instead just puts on some girl who thinks the formula for water is W. It's all for laughs, it's all about mocking the girl. It really doesn't tell us much about the American education system. It just tells us about that one girl.

It is just sampling. If he asks twenty people a basic question, that due to their circumstances they ought to know, and fourteen get the answer wrong, that is significant.
The sad part is how fully instructed these same people are in the minutiae of the youth culture.
And don't overlook the fact their ignorance is causing massive misery in the real world. They vote. Stupidly. And that is a real problem.
