There has to be some reason for being provocative like this. Even “I’ll sit out the election” wouldn’t be this bad.

Not at all. I’ve not voted for several years. I’ve been exercising my right NOT to consent to poorly elected (if you will) candidates. If Donald J. Trump is not on the ballot, I promise to go to work without voting. AGAIN. :)
