I think they are tired of his bombast and sick to death of being mere props. The photo of them interacting with Melania showed them at an emotional oasis.
It is odious of “Ted” (not his real name) to continue to grind the children down using them as meat tinsel for his campaign. Shame on Heidi too. She isn’t the only one ready to walk along the highway to get away from creepy Felito.

The video featuring the daughter was depressing. Agree with you she’s not terrified. She does seem unhappy, and she definitely appears to dislike Cruz. We’d need more info to draw more definite inferences.
If I had to guess I’d agree with you on the kids being sick and tired of getting dragged around as props. I’d also connect the daughter’s reaction with Heidi wandering along the highway, and being deemed a possible hazard to herself. Something drove her to that point. The kids likely know what it was; hence, the negative reaction to Dad.
