I don’t think you are seeing this for what it is. Cruz is mathematically eliminated. Since this is a Republican primary he and, Kasich too, have an obligation to help unite the party in order to defeat Hillary. They both have had their chance to stand up to Trump. The voters didn’t agree and now it is time for both men to withdraw. Cruz had his chance. He even had a better than 50% chance at the VP slot, then his own presidency. He blew it ,,,,, big time. Hating Donald Trump won’t change that.

You are making the common assumption that Trump has cinched the nomination. Maybe. Maybe not. The bitterness and vitriol and dishonesty on all sides in this campaign virtually guarantees an election loss in November.

I do not share your enthusiasm for Trump. Nor, though I voted for him in the primary, am I enthusiastic about Cruz.

You may well be in for an unwelcome surprise as the ACTUAL GOP-E (not Cruz or even Kasich) bullies and bribes its way to stopping Trump by turning delegates you expect him to receive. Scott Walker (AFTER the Wisconsin primary) was quoted as saying that the ultimate nominee would be neither Trump nor Cruz nor Kasich.

One service of the Trump campaign may have been to expose Cruz's weaknesses in such a way that he is never likely to be nominated for POTUS now or ever.

Trump has conducted himself in such a way as to likely guarantee a general election defeat if he is the nominee unless (only maybe) he cleans up his mouth and his act and those of his supporters. He insults everyone who posed any threat to his success and his supporters are worse than he is. He stampedes some voters but he won't stampede nearly enough in November.

I confess that I will stoop to vote for him against my every instinct simply because he is NOT Hillary and NOT Moral Monster Mitt Romney. That's a very low bar but everyone won't be as easy as I am.

People who do not support Trump do not have to hate him although some do. You won't maximize his vote by making such claims. The beneficiary of "party unity" would be Trump. What has TRUMP done to bring about party unity?????? Crickets!
