Senate Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell is scheming to slam the door of the Senate in the face of another conservative Republican like Sen. Ted Cruz.
McConnell’s super PAC has aggressively bought air time to ensure establishment candidate Rep. Todd Young replaces retiring Sen. Dan Coats. Young is running in the primary against Rep. Marlin Stutzman – a member of the House Freedom Caucus who voted against former Speaker John Boehner. In addition to McConnell’s super PAC, establishment GOP ally the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has spent $1 million to promote Young and keep out anti-establishment Stutzman.
“We must commit ourselves to avoiding the constant cycle of brinkmanship by working across party lines to address issues like job creation, stagnant personal incomes, our unsustainable national debt and rising health-care costs,” Young said in 2013 when he voted to end the government shutdown.
In addition, Young has regularly voted against the conservative alternative to House Republicans’ annual budget proposal.
CNN reports that McConnell views Stutzman as “a potential troublemaker in the Senate GOP Conference, much like Cruz.”

These skunks, snakes and vipers did this in Mississippi. Hopefully they are less successful here. McConnell should be hanged, drawn and quartered.
There was once a time, years ago, when I donated to the Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee. This is precisely the reason that I don’t anymore. Donations are far more likely to be used to defeat conservatives in primaries than to defeat liberals in general elections.
Can e vote Mitch out instead? When is he up for reelection?

McConnell needs to retire and join Boehner at the country club bar.
This McConnell assault on Rep. Todd Young, and Chris McDaniel before him, is ALL about preventing the next Ted Cruz.
A conservative can support Trump without the need to lie about Ted Cruz. Cruz is no "insider". McConnell and the gOpE detest Cruz. Always have.
First, as much as people have turned against Cruz, McConnell is much worse.
Second, Stutzman is not Cruz no matter how McConnell tries to associate him as such.
McConnell thinks he is benefitting from the backlash against Cruz, but he is mistaken. McConnell is still scum and needs to be driven out. He also needs to be investigated how he was able to amass a $28 million fortune on $174,000 annual congressional pay.
And they wonder how Trump is doing it and who created him.

Even when Trump wins the presidency, I am sure he will not pursue this. And that is too bad because Trump is really the only one who has the power to do it. I just hope he has the will do clean house. If he goes after Hillary, then he ought to go after the repubs.

Trump has studied thoroughly the tactics of the great US Generals and the great US battles of history. He knows what he’s doing or he knows how to find out.
