I had Lyme (I was living about 20 miles from Lyme, CT., Ground Zero). For most people, quick detection (or guessing to be safe) followed by a regimen of $20 worth of garden variety anti-biotics for three weeks will do the trick.

DON'T try the naturopathic approach. Time is ticking, and the people I know who tried that had no success, and thankfully went with the antibiotics in time. If you get a doctor who thinks it is over-diagnosed, and won't let you get the anti-biotics, get another doctor. A woman I know has severe permanent damage to her body due to a doctor's ego.

What were your symptoms? I got bit by two ticks last May (after the jumped onto me undetected, while walking the dog), but never had noticeable effects.

I had it as well, and the antibiotics were very effective (I immediately asked the doctor to test for it; even without a rash I knew what it was). I never found the tick or the bite site.

The worst part of the antibiotics (which I followed religiously out of fear of the chronic symptoms) is that you can’t eat for three hours before and one hour after taking it; for an undisciplined slob like me who eats 5-6 meals throughout the day like a hobbit that was tough...

Exactly, time is of the essence, and trying something that most likely will not work is wasting time- there are proven medications to treat this disease- leave the naturopathic trials to things like aching bones, headaches, toothaches etc- Lymes disease IS devastating- it will ruin a person’s life- take them from a healthy actrive person to literally a couch potato because they will never have the strength stamina or endurance they once had- This isn’t like a ‘bad flu’- this is devastating stuff- Debilitating- and it will disable a person, and good luck getting on dissability- it’s very hard to prove-

IF you want to try naturalistic, then do so in ADDITION to traditional treatment and do not stop the traditional until you finish the course-
