Transmitted from ticks, it can take years to diagnose, leaving people suffering painful symptoms doctors are unable to explain.
A 'TICKING TIME BOMB' On any ranked list of nasty diseases transmitted by mosquitoes, ticks and fleas in the Western world, Borrelia burgdorferi, would have to lie near the top. These bacteria cause Lyme disease, which was first recognised in the US in the early 1970s among patients in Lyme, Connecticut. However, the oldest known case was the Ötzi the Tyrolean Iceman - a 5,300-year-old Copper-age mummified individual - discovered in the Italian Alps.

I had fever & chills in a range I’d never experienced before (in terms of extremes of hot & cold), as well as achiness in my hands & feet. Ticks themselves don’t always carry it (only deer ticks do in my area, as opposed to the larger wood ticks), and supposedly they need to be attached for 24 hours to transmit (which I don’t believe). The old methods of removing them (burning with a hot match-head or simply digging out with tweezers) are now thought to be conducive to causing infection (by causing the tick to vomit inside you); special tick pliers and “keys” can now be bought (if you can’t find them in a sporting goods store try a pet store) that grasp it near the head and allow you to pull it out without either squeezing the stomach (as tweezers might) or leaving the head inside the wound. Now they also advise people to wash their hands thoroughly after just handling them, so I’m guessing they have some transmission cases they can’t figure out.
I still have a scar from one that really took some work to remove; nothing developed from the bite so I guess it was either early enough or the tick wasn’t a carrier (though you have to be wary of other diseases like Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever they may carry). If you are out much in areas with a lot of them you might want to consider trimming the nether region; I’ve found a couple after showering that could only have been hiding there (though I think the warmth drives them out for a cooler spot to dig in - they didn’t attach there).

Naturally, she liked the outdoors, as was happy to drag me off into insect central, where ever we were.
If a biting/blood sucking insect has a choice between a million other people and me, it will choose me, even if I'm covered in DEET.
They are thick
I’ve had two tick bites that produced bull eye rashes. No symptoms whatsoever, never tested positive for lyme. One Dr explained that most people never become symptomatic, it will depend on your immune system, but for the ones who do it’s a horrible illness.
Lyme disease is a huge problem in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Tick population had more than doubled in the past few mild weather years. This is not just a problem for humans, they are attacking animals too. Wisconsin has a blood disease killing humans. http://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2016-03-21/rare-blood-infection-hits-wisconsin-michigan
Rev. 15:1 What I saw next, in heaven, was a great and wonderful sign: seven angels were bringing the seven plagues that are the last of all, because they exhaust the anger of God.Rev. 6:7 When he broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth animal shout, 'Come'.
Rev. 11:6 They are able to lock up the sky so that it does not rain as long as they are prophesying; they are able to turn water into blood and strike the whole world with any plague as often as they like.
Rev. 16:2 The first angel went and emptied his bowl over the earth; at once, on all the people who had been branded with the mark of the beast and had worshiped its statue, there came disgusting and virulent sores.
Rev. 13:12 This second beast was servant to the first beast, and extended its authority everywhere, making the world and all its people worship the first beast, which had had the fatal wound and had been healed.
Rev 16:11 but instead of repenting for what they had done, they cursed the God of heaven because of their pains and sores.
[[DON’T try the naturopathic approach.]]
Exactly, time is of the essence, and trying something that most likely will not work is wasting time- there are proven medications to treat this disease- leave the naturopathic trials to things like aching bones, headaches, toothaches etc- Lymes disease IS devastating- it will ruin a person’s life- take them from a healthy actrive person to literally a couch potato because they will never have the strength stamina or endurance they once had- This isn’t like a ‘bad flu’- this is devastating stuff- Debilitating- and it will disable a person, and good luck getting on dissability- it’s very hard to prove-
IF you want to try naturalistic, then do so in ADDITION to traditional treatment and do not stop the traditional until you finish the course-

[[and supposedly they need to be attached for 24 hours to transmit (which I dont believe). ]]
That thought is changing- they may not even need that long any longer- it used to be said that they needed 72 hours- then 48- now 24- but some researchers are saying it can transmit even quicker now- and most ticks in lyme disease country, have it-
[[Now they also advise people to wash their hands thoroughly after just handling them,]]
And that fact i think is why they are downgrading hte time needed for transmission- if you can get lyme simply by handling a tick, then it’s likely a bite from one can spread it quickly-
The problem there and with us is over population of deer.
How did our ancestors solve the problem of over population of any critter?
I’ve had Lyme three times. Each time I had the classic bullseye (one time was HUGE, covered my entire shoulder blade). It was caught in time and I had some strong meds to take (believe me, they CLEAR out your system and are rough on your stomach). The real danger is getting a tick on your scalp where you might not see the indicator(s) if you have a full head of hair. That is what I fear; those little suckers will jump from on high onto you. My second time with it, I picked up a tick while re-roofing my home. Who knew they were up there?!!!
A ticking Tam bomb?...
Disease-Carrying Ticks Already Out and Active in Minnesota

This mild, short winter means most of Minnesota’s tick population survived. Even though it’s only early March, the disease-carry blacklegged ticks, also known as deer ticks, are already out and active. “We know they can be active when the temperatures are in the mid -to upper-30s, so that could be today,” University of Minnesota Entomologist Jeff Hahn said. “They are out there, and we have already seen them looking for hosts,” he said. Blacklegged ticks are becoming more of a problem here in the Twin Cities metro. As a result, the number of reported cases of Lyme disease are on the rise. According to The Minnesota Department of Health, 252 cases were reported in 1996; that number jumped to 1,431 reported cases in 2013.

Sounds like my experience last summer, but my doctor insisted the cause—wasn’t the black fly that bit me—although I had ground the black fly into the bite. Also the exact site of the bullseye.
