Oh, I’ll have to put this on my list!! I already want to do the Grand Canyon by rail, and there’s a New England train/bus trip that runs in the fall I want to take too!

A dream of mine for years has been to take a train from one side of Canada to another.

That trip is the one my grandson wants to take. It would be a wonderful trip. When we went on the NW trip, we all made lots of precious memories. My grandson is a very gifted pianist. He played on the train and people were leaving him tips. The regular pianist was not a happy camper. He, my gs, celebrated his 21st bd on the train. We want the little girls to experience the fun.

Niteowl77 did the Grand Canyon railroad trip and would do it again. She's not the rail nut I am, but she has picked up some of the craziness by osmosis.

A late friend of mine hired out as a fireman and then became an engineer, retiring after about 40 years in service. A few years after he retired, he took a VIA Rail trip across Canada. When the head-end crews would find out that he had run locomotives from the '40's to the '80's, they broke the rules and had him come up and ride in the cab, which is is always the best place to be, even when it is hot/cold, dirty, rough, and otherwise uncomfortable. He highly recommended a Canadian trip by rail even if a person didn't have the perks conferred by being part of the brotherhood
