See if I understand this:

We were all mad at Boehner.
Boehner was a big part of rise of Trump.
Boehner endorses Trump cuz Cruz fought him & got reps in the House to join in. Plus Trump gave him $100,000.
Trump good with Boehner, praises McConnell.
Trump wants everyone to unite behind him but he is in league with the people we were upset with.
Everyone here okay with that?

Trump is holding out an olive branch to the GOP establishment.

If they get on board, fine. If not, Trump will still have his legions of loyal voters.

The party has to decide whether it can unify with Trump at the head of the ticket.

The GOPe may be scared of Trump also. It’s all a game. Cruz can’t win anything, but Trump can.

I see what you’re saying, but something about Boehner makes me think he’s fairly easy to deceive and then subtly manipulate by suggesting he make certain public statements.
I also think Boehner misses being near the center of power, not that he ever knew how to use that power.

So if some of Trump’s people suggest Boehner to go public with every little thing that has ever bothered him about Ted Cruz, Boehner will be open to considering it. You see all the attention he’s gotten after the “Ted is Lucifer!” remarks. No one has given the ex-Speaker this much serious thought since his last teary meltdown in front of The Pope.

Cruz is hated by his party because of the fact that he is unlikable.

Trump is winning the popular vote because of the fact that he is likable. This is why we have elections so we can vote for the most capable and likable person.

Likability is a factor you cannot ignore. Especially when you are trying to secure a leadership role. Cruz is not likable!

Trump is anything but a lib Dem.

All you need to do is watch who is getting protested and rioted by the left. That’s who they fear.

It ain’t St. Ted of Calgary.

It’s a game. GOPe (which includes Boehner) is terrified of Trump. By pretending to hate Cruz, Boehner, Peter King, etc., hope to draw some Trump voters to Cruz’ side.

Boehner doesn’t hate Cruz. Cruz was so easily manipulated to do the GOPs’s bidding in the Senate. Candy from a baby. They know that if Cruz is in the Oval Office they’ll be in charge again.
