Some on here like him because he doesn’t get along with Washington.
I believe it’s important to get along to some extent. It sure helps if you want people to support what you’re trying to do.
Cruz’ shut down of government turned out to be a positive for Obama. If Cruz was going to shut down government, he should have at least made sure he had some support for it. Instead, he looked foolish.

I never could figure out how he would get his proposals enacted when almost 100% of Congress hates him. And the idea that you can go into DC and abolish 5 Federal Departments and 25 Federal Agencies with no support is fairy dust.
Not that he could ever get that far anyway; I really don’t see thousands of Federal workers in Virginia voting for him. He’s dead in Florida so between the two, he’ll be 42 EV down before the day begins.
