Wealth has nothing to do with it, NYT. It has to do with the parents. Since welfare bennies discourage the father from actually being a part of the family there is little structure or discipline (this is why Asian and Indian kids do so well). Of course it makes it worse when mom is out on the stoop all day drinking 40s and smoking blunts. Dodging gang members and gun fire doesn't help either.

Funny how all those poor Vietnamese who went to my home state in the 70s have succeeded. Not all of them, but darned close.

And, in the same area, certain folks who could have been sons and daughters of the Cretin-in-Charge are still where their parents were, and their many many children from many many women will suffer the same fate.

Sorry, NYT, but THAT’s the truth.

It’s not money.

It is culture.

And certain cultures are doomed to failure, and can ONLY be changed from within.
