Gaslighting comes from the famous (and wonderful) Ingrid Bergman movie in which her husband does everything to convince her that all her actions and thoughts are not only wrong but crazy. He does this to get control and power.

Oh, that’s right! I recently saw part of that movie — “Gaslight” — on TCM. I’ve never seen the entire movie. No spoilers about how it ends, please! ;-)
