Opponents of Britain's European Union membership have edged into the lead over the past two weeks, according to a YouGov poll which indicated President Barack Obama's intervention failed to swing support behind "In" vote in a June 23 referendum.
The online survey for The Times taken on April 25-26 showed support for the Out campaign had risen 3 percentage points to 42 percent since a similar survey on April 12-14, while support for the "In" campaign had risen 1 percentage point to 41 percent.

Ever seen a list of the people who died defending the Alamo? There were quite a few Limeys, Krauts and at least a half dozen Mexicans.
Three years ago, I got tapped to do the graveside eulogy at my brother-in-law's funeral in Houston. I stayed up with my niece the night before going through a great deal of family history and Texas history he had collected. Really sobering stuff on the diversity of that group who defended the Alamo, including his forebears. God bless them all for saving Texas from Mexico's fate.

Yep
folks from all over the world came to Texas. Smart people. My lineage can be traced back to Ireland, England and Germany. My brides side of the family are Czech and German. The Czech part of her side came straight to Galveston from their homeland in Czechoslovakia.
Those were indeed some brave men at the Alamo. Sure could use men like that today.
Heres an interesting book for you about Texas that you might like. Evolution of a State written by one of my ancestors, Noah Smithwick. He was a blacksmith by trade. He worked on the famous Come and Take It cannon.

Thanks. I'll bookmark for later. As you know, Texas has a very rich history. For those who don't care to read and would rather get a film version, I'd recommend the John Wayne version of
The Alamo plus
Giant which was released about five years earlier.
Just the music from those two films is legendary.
