Like the bean counters would every let the Air Force risk a 100 million dollar plane to fly low and slow to take out tanks. I am thinking that the Warthog will be around longer than the F35 gold-plated brick.

Nothing can fly low and slow and linger over the target like the Warthog. Best ground support plane ever.
Transfer them, plus the pilots, plus all the support structure, to the Army. Just do it.
The A1E was the best CAS plane of Vietnam . The others were two fast to accurately dump bombs on targets and be able to take fire.
