A vermin infestation has overrun the kitchen of a suburban Chicago Veterans Affairs hospital and is reportedly so severe that cockroaches routinely crawl across countertops as cooks prepare meals. The insects have even found their way into patients’ food, employees say. The bug invasion has attracted the attention of a U.S. senator who is demanding to know how the VA is fixing the problem. It’s just the latest scandal at an agency rocked by allegations of abuse, incompetence and the needless deaths of veterans who wait years for medical appointments.

I HATE Hines VA
some guys in my Legion HAVE to go there, and I have nothing but sympathy for them.
I tried to go there years ago, and it was just awful. To me, they make the DMV look efficient.
Odd though, I looked a couple years ago online to find their address and there were tons of 5 star ratings, and I had to wonder “who is rating this joint?” “Gub’mint employees? Is it the employees rating them?” Because no one in their right mind would rate them above 2 stars unless they have changed dramatically, but it doesn’t sound like it.
Long Beach VA hospital is just as filthy and the medical staff are incompetent, and when the IG was notified of the issues, the IG assigned the Long Beach VA hospital administrator/chief to investigate her own hospital. . .of course, she found nothing wrong and they hospital was just wonderful.
I’m not in favor of higher taxes generally, but I DON’T CARE how high they would have to raise taxes in order to put our VA in proper shape. The VA hospitals should be the best in the nation, period. Whatever it takes.
The problems are not limited to the VA.
It’s big government and all that it touches.
The EPA mineshaft gap.

This should be forced by the American people as
a meal for the “US” Congress who care about
four things during their systematic, unending TREASON:
THEMSELVES
THEIR FAMILIES
THEIR STAFF

This is an outrage.
Go to Wikipedia and read about the later life of Captain Sobel of Band of Brothers fame.
Unbearably sad, to make it short, he tried to committee Suicide and failed, but it blinded him, he live the next 17 years in a V.A. home and died in '87 due to "Malnutrition".
Now after reading this article, what do you think Happened to an elderly blind vet in the V.A.? :'(
You don’t have to raise taxes. Just quit giving money to the muslim countries and give it to the VA. Amazing that we don’t support our vets but we lavishly fund the countries that were largely responsible for injuring the vets in the first place.

As for veterans, well, it is what the government does for us in gratitude for our service.

My solution, fire the TOP 10 levels of admin at the VA and replace them with wounded warriors looking for a job.
Then put in the rule that ONLY wounded warriors can be hired for the top 10 levels of VA administration.
Civilian Political leadership of a Military Services type institution ALWAYS turns to crap.
Just spread Diatomaceous Earth around everywhere. It’s non-poisonous to humans. Matter of fact it’s actually helpful to eat some. And it’s cheap.
