Actually, he has an excellent understanding of exactly that, which is why NRO, William Kristol, Lindsey Graham, Hugh Hewitt, Powerline Blog and (sadly) Mark Levin have such a big problem with him. That's correct and the names you mentioned all have vested interest in the status quo.
