Roger Stone has made the point that Trump, for his own safety, should pick someone outside of the establishment. While it’s unpleasant to consider such things, Stone makes the case that Bush was behind the assassination attempt of Reagan. I’m not completely convinced that that’s true, but I don’t dismiss it (like I would have a few years ago) out of hand either. Stone’s book linking LBJ to the Kennedy assassination is an even more compelling case in my opinion.
Before this election season I would never have believed such a thing would put him at risk. But after the last few months, I would put nothing past the party insiders.
Someone like Stone’s previous client Al Sharpton? He’d be perfect.
