Big point everyone is missing today is that he didn’t pick Rubio, which means Rubio probably turned Ted down along with his 172 delegates. Same with Kasich. So Ted is really a bonehead. He has no chips to play at any potential contested convention. What interest would Kasich or Rubio have in releasing their delegates to Cruz just because? Ted really is not as smart as everyone makes him out to be.

“...he didn’t pick Rubio...”

Well said. “Rubio probably turned Ted down” is right and Rubio is hoping for a deal with Trump if he (Rubio) has any talent at all for strategy and long term planning. I don’t know if Trump will deal with him or not, but such a (hypothetical) deal would be in Rubio’s best interest that’s for sure.

Good point.

Good post. You're right, I missed it too. Cruz just threw away his strongest card to play, if by a miracle, there's a second ballot - which is his only chance at the nomination. He's a political idiot. I begin to see why so few senators can stand him.
