For the past few weeks, Republican campaign professionals and conservatives who are seeing the GOP nomination heading into Donald Trumps hands have been counseling anti-Trump voters not to panic and consoling themselves with the notion that things will turn around for Ted Cruz when the final weeks of the campaign shift to the Midwest and mountain states.
After Trumps astounding five-for-five primary night, by margins that were likely surprising even for Trump fans, its now Indiana or bust. If Trump wins the primary next week in the Hoosier State, Cruz is toast and Trump will almost certainly be the Republican nominee.
Theres no putting lipstick on this pig. Cruzs numbers Tuesday night, like his numbers in New York last week, were beyond horrible. With six weeks to go before voting concludes, the man conservatives are hoping can overcome Trump with his clever delegate game and more serious mien is getting 10 to 15 percent of the vote in major states.
It isnt only that the not-Trump vote is failing to coalesce around Cruz hes going backward.
And people are kidding themselves if they think Tuesday nights results wont have an effect on voters in Indiana and elsewhere.

He managed to get practically everyone in the senate to dislike him. I guess his new goal is the rest of the population.
There is no way Cruz can come close to the speech Trump just gave. No way.

Yep, watched the speech. Excellent speech with a few gaffes but from a content standpoint, dead on.
Indiana is meaningless. The media is only talking about it because it’s next. Trump will clean up in CA, NJ and NM and that could be all he needs to go over the top.
It’s over. Tedead
More and more people will jump on the Trump bandwagon, and he’ll sweep most, if not all, the remaining primaries, easily surpassing the 1237 goal. He’ll then get the lions share of the 100+ unbound delegates at the convention, and get close to 1500 votes on the first ballot.
What were the gaffs?
I agree. What I don’t understand is how some high placed GOP people in my home state are so pro-Cruz, they can’t see through his snake oil talk. I hope these “well-educated” people finally see the writing on the wall.
Like Trump has always said, nobody likes Cruz. They are shedding him already.
Wow. This is interesting.
I missed his speech!
I think his next job will be to replace Benny Hinn!!! Cruz makes me ill!!
Scott Walker’s campaign chair is working now for Trump so the channels are open
I have long suspected Scott Walker as a potential for VP on the Trump ticket - his Cruz endorsement being a bump in the road but not a fatal error
Except Walker is not a DC Capitol Hill insider
But the GOP would have embraced him if he had made a string run
However Trump has been very complimentary of Rubio past 2 weeks so -
Two guys to watch

That is a fact.
Interesting.
Seems Kasich and Cruz selling a contested convention has forced the rats out to leap frog over Cruz.
He and Kasich are going to be humiliated if this goes to a contested convention. The goal of the party is to keep all candidates from getting to 1247 so a White Knight can bring the party together.
