More than two-thirds of Americans want the presidential nomination processes to be changed and more than half say the systems are rigged, a new poll found.
The Reuters/Ipsos poll released Wednesday found that 51 percent of likely voters believe the primary system is rigged against some candidates.
And 71 percent say parties should pick their presidential nominees with a direct vote, instead of using delegates.
Twenty-seven percent said they did not understand how the primary process works, and 44 percent said they were unsure why delegates are involved at all.
Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders have frequently lamented that their parties systems are unfair.
Nearly half of respondents said they would like all 50 states to hold their nominating contests at the same day, instead of spread out across five months.
