Sad to see him having to do the TelePrompTer ping pong, but his content is killer good. He is nailing it.

Trump is landing foreign policy body blows!!!! Thank you, God for letting me live long enough to see a man of power call down the thunder on these foreign policy assholes that have done so much damage to America and the world because of their weirdo ideologies - from Bosnia-Kosovo to Iraq to Libya - at the expense of Christians and secular Muslims. I say enough!!

re: teleprompter...signals that this is a very deliberate keystone policy speech with “printed” handouts to media for the record.

A clear message to the nation, our allies, our enemies, and the ants in the grass.

The TelePrompter is probably going to be a necessity when giving topic specific speeches like this. Before TelePrompters, speakers would bring reams of notes to the podium. In fact, that was the original reason for having podiums - to have a place for your notes. Trump is great off the cuff when in debates, at rallies or talking to the American people but probably better off having major speeches like this written ahead of time.

Speaking of debates, I was reading about the famous 1858 debates between Lincoln and Douglas. Nothing at all like we do debates today. The debaters were given one hour to open, an hour and a half to rebut, and then another hour for closing statements! Attention spans must have been longer in those days.

The TelePrompTer critique is not that anyone uses it but that someone like Obama seems to always use it even in moments that don't need to be scripted. Trump has already proven he does not need a TelePrompTer at all. When the tool is called for he can use it no problem. That's the difference.

Yeah. A teleprompter in itself isn’t bad. It’s mostly just speech notes without paper, if used right.

Just that the only reason that Obama had a reputation as a good speaker is that he can read one of them and he’s utterly clueless without.

Whereas Mr. Trump can get his ideas across both with and without, which is excellent.
