It isn’t the listeners. He is a showman, and those who pay for the show get to name the tune.

Folly. You fail to recognize that there would be no sponsors if there were no audience.

Rush knows and keeps his audience; sponsors follow. If he were to Take Orders and change his show he would likely lose ratings and sponsors would no longer value his show.

Listeners are the products he sells to the people who buy ads.

The demographic for talk radio is shrinking. Millennials are not listening to that type of format. The syndication company that distributes Rush’s show is in massive amounts of debt.

Rush is playing the long game, and honestly I hope he has an exit strategy planned for soon.
