They don’t see the Presidency as an office run by a human but a vessel for conservatism. I know Ted Cruz is ideologically the most conservative person in the race. He is a horrible leader and does not inspire.
Notice Levin's elitism showing as well. I thought the Republican Party's goal was to get as many cross-over and independent voters into their party? Well, Trump is doing that and he's getting pissed on for it. It's mind-boggling.
It appears the contest will be a Marxist running as a democrat against a democrat running as a republican.

You are to be congratulated.

That is the best statement regarding conservatism I read since this election cycle started. I would add one thing. Members of the legislative branch aren’t leaders.
I think this race is about issues and not ideology. This is why Trump is the best candidate for republicans. He has a message and isn’t afraid to speak out, which is something the party promised and then broke it.
I’ve voted straight Republican since 1984. I’ve always considered myself a strong conservative. But if some people think Ted Cruz is the truest conservative in the race, then I must’ve have been wrong about what conservatism actually is. Because I’m seriously opposed to Cruz’s globalist positions. I’m against quintupling H1B visas. I’m against arming jihadis in Syria to overthrow a secular government which protects Christians. I’m against the TPP and and the globalist-friendly free trade. I’m against saber-rattling with Russia and trying to thwart Russia’a excellent work in bombing jihadis in Syria. I’m for helping working-class Americans and an America-first trade policy. I think the economy is for the people and not people for the economy. I’m against allowing large numbers of Muslim refugees and Muslim immigrants into this country.
Great statement!
No leadership skills - make him a judge.

I’ve learned a lesson this campaign season. Don’t over focus on the ideology the candidate believes in. It’s not how much the candidate knows about and believes in his heart about conservatism. It’s who bought him, whom will he be working for or owned by. Who is he forced to pay back?
Now that I know how deeply dirty the Bushes are, W is a case in point. I believe he did all the right things to be considered right of center, and I believe he is a Christian. Those things don’t matter if you will work towards an oligarchy’s elite global slavery lite cabal.
Ted Cruz’s conservatism and Christianity likewise will not be part of his governing because he is bought by the same cabal.
Think of rooting for your favorite baseball team. Don’t get caught up in the jersey and be for each player, when one seems to be throwing the game for money. Sure, he’s wearing the right jersey and playing at the right ballpark. But he is working for some other goal than to win with the team.
