When I was attending OU at Norman, this was the money shot time of year for severe weather research. Those of us in the school of engineering would go out to take pictures of storms forming (this was in the 1970s).

For a good set, the weather guys would pay up to $25. That was enough for a couple of Orrin's pizzas and the next tank of gas.
