WOW! What a load of crap! And here I used to highly respect Breitbart. Their namesake must be rolling in his grave.

This anti-Colorado hit piece is one Big Lie after another from beginning to end. And what's grimly amusing is that you don't have to even look outside the article to watch their own lies skewered.

Starting with the title of the article: "EXCLUSIVE: Colorado County GOP Chair: Errors with Ted Cruz’s Delegate Win, Might Need Do-Over"

This clearly implies that the County Chair is saying that some errors were so bad that they could conceivably lead to the need for a Do-Over.

But she never said that! First, she didn't say that in her email. Second, she also didn't say that to the Breitbart "journalist" (euphemistically speaking) who called her to try and get a usable quote to add more fuel to the fire.

When the Breitbart caller asked her about the absolute worst possible case, namely what would happen if the RNC should refuse to seat Colorado's delegates, she answered,
"If it’s that bad, I guess if there’s any question that our delegates won’t be seated, then that would be a case where it might make sense to have a do-over," Cage said.
And *these* are the words that they use to justify their headline?? These words were only an answer to an incredibly unlikely scenario suggested by the Breitbart "reporter". They asked her to comment on a Doomsday Scenario that's not going to happen, and which they made clear later in the article that they *KNOW* is not going to happen, since Team Trump has no plans as far as anyone knows to challenge the CO results. And this even remotely justifies the headline?

Bullcrap! That would be like asking her during the interview, "If you were in incredible nonstop pain and told you had days to live, would you ask they pull the plug?" ... and then using the answer to claim, "GOP Chair says voting errors are bad; she's even considering suicide!"

BOTTOM LINE: The article itself contains the proof of the lie in the headline!

And if that isn't great example of a self-immolating lie, how about this one in the third paragraph that eats itself within the confines of one single sentence: "Breitbart News’s original report on massive voting problems at the caucus - ... at least one woman not being able to vote..."

Are you freaking KIDDING ME? How can someone even write a sentence like that that with a straight face? One woman out of the 60,000 who attended Caucus Night?

But here's the one particular Colorado-bashing Blood Libel that *REALLY* gets my goat:
Cruz won a clean sweep of 34 delegates without opening up the process to voting by everyday citizens.
ARGH ARGH ARGH ARGH ARGH! And just WHO, for cryin' out loud, are these "Everyday Citizens"???

For the UMPTEENTH GAZILLION TIME: EVERY FREAKING REGISTERED REPUBLICAN IN COLORADO WAS ELIGIBLE TO VOTE!

60,000 of them chose to do so, including many motivated Trump Supporters, and several times their number in motivated Cruz/Rubio/Carson/Kasich supporters.

So by the process of elimination, these poor pathetic victimized disenfranchised "Everyday Citizens" as defined by Breitbart must consist of:

So this means the only ones who voted were the "NON-Everyday Citizens," namely we 60,000 GOP voters who attended caucus that evening.

GRR!!

And I've still only touched the tip of this Iceberg of Lies that Breitbart managed to stuff into just one article!

CAVEAT / TRUTH-IN-LENDING-DISCLOSURE / WHATEVER:
[
Knowing there will be objections to the completeness of the above list, let me address the two most obvious:

Yes, there certainly *are* registered voters who truly could NOT get off work, or find a babysitter, or were in a hospital or sick at home or any other number of perfectly valid reasons. But it's ludicrous to suggest that their numbers were great enough, and the percentage of Trump supporters among them must have been so overwhelming, that their non-inclusion in the neighborhood caucus meetings might have thrown the election from Trump to Cruz.

Someone asked about active duty military. If it was technically feasible, I would *love* to see some solution allowing them to participate via Skype. Or if not, then to at least be allowed to give their proxy vote to a trusted family member or friend, who would have to be present to join in the pre-voting discussion, in order to gather all the info needed to cast their votes for delegates.

Because it's not until you actually show up that night that you find out which of your neighbors also showed up, and which neighbors decide to run for which delegate slots, and which of your candidate-neighbors have declared their allegiance to which candidates - at all levels from the Presidential race on down to County Coroner.

But if any alternative solution is going to work within the Caucus System, it obviously can NOT be one of: "Absentee Ballot Opened at the Caucus," because how can you pre-vote for neighbors when you can't know until that evening which neighbors are there and running???)
