The general impression I have gotten is that Cruz supporters and Trump critics are not welcome here anymore.

Maybe it’s a false impression, but I have plenty of reasons for criticizing Trump and I am very reluctant to share them on this forum.

I continue to enjoy the Religion and Chat rooms, but the election threads have been very contentious - at least they were contentious until dozens of Cruz supporters and Trump critics found themselves zotted into outer darkness.

Now it has become an echo chamber for Trump supporters.

The general impression I have gotten is that Cruz supporters and Trump critics are not welcome here anymore.

This forum has gone from being almost 100% for Ted Cruz, 6 months ago, to now being 8 or 9 to 1 against Ted Cruz and for Donald Trump.

There are valid reasons for this development, and there won't be any turning back. This community, just like the GOP voters at large, has made its choice, and it's going to stick with him come Hell or high water.

I would think that even Donald Trump's biggest detractors should be able to give credit where credit is due— Donald Trump has withstood an unbelievable campaign of character assassination from all directions, and he is still standing tall. In fact, he's stronger than ever. It's abundanbtly clear that he deserves to be the GOP nominee for President.

The fact that some Ted Cruz die-hards want to remain in denial and see a contested GOP convention is quite unfortunate, because at this point, such elements, wittingly or not, are actively undermining party unity. And the time has come for party unity.

And there will be no party unity until Ted Cruz stands down from his failed campaign and begins the healing process. The ball is in Ted Cruz's court.

This community categorically rejects any efforts fto force a contested convention, as it serves no constructive purpose, and indeed represents a huge risk for destructive consequences.

Ted Cruz, for some inexplicable reason at this point, thinks he can limp into the GOP convention with, at best, about 700 delegates or so.

And then what's he going to do somehow, magically? He's going to seize the nomination from Donald Trump, displacing the party's clear frontrunner.

Then what? This is the most ridiculous part: after swiping the nomination, the only possible result (if Trump were denied) is to:

That's just a totally counterproductive scheme. and it's precisely the goal of the "NeverTrump" crowd. Thus Ted Cruz is a de facto "NeverTrump" saboteur.

Such a role is simply no longer operative or legitimate, against the backdrop of the systematic demonization vendetta that Donald Trump has been unfairly subjected to, non-stop, for months on end.

The GOP voters are sick to death of it, and they have no sympathy for either the GOPe or Ted Cruz, even if Donald Trump were to come up a few delegates short of a majority (which he won't).

That's the state of things.

The only plausible path forward for the GOP is to unify the party, and anyone who isn't on board with that is part of the problem, not part of the solution.

Don't you understand that?

I know your candidate is important to you. But he has lost this campaign. It really is time to accept that fact, and the fact that there will be no magic for him at the convention. Nor should there be.

It's time to wrap up this process and get on with the business of defeating Hillary Clinton, with Donald Trump as the deserving standard-bearer.

Enough is enough with the irrational Trump-hatred! It's been repudiated. It's a false argument. Donald Trump is simply not the demonic monster/con-man from Hell that the GOPe/NeverTrump crowd, and, yes, Ted Cruz campaign seeks to portray him as. They have lost that national debate, and they have lost it decisively.

If Ted Cruz supporters want to beat Hillary in November, they're going to have to let go of their blind hatred, disrespect, and dismissal of Donald Trump, and they're going to have to accept the fact that Ted Cruz will not be the one to lead this charge under any plausible scenario.

Vote Trump
