Donald Trump: 'If I lose, I don’t think you will ever see me again'

Don’t expect to see Donald Trump give a humble concession speech if he loses the Republican presidential nomination. During a Sunday rally in Maryland, the Republican presidential frontrunner mocked candidates who praise their opponents during concession speeches, saying that if he loses the contest, Americans will probably not hear much from him again. “They fight like hell for six months, and they’re saying horrible things, the worst things you can imagine,” Trump said. “And then one of them loses, one of them wins. And the one who loses says, ‘I just want to congratulate my opponent. He is a brilliant man, he’ll be a great governor or president or whatever.’” He continued: “I’m not sure you’re ever going to see me there. I don’t think I’m going to lose, but if I do, I don’t think you’re ever going to see me again, folks. I think I’ll go to Turnberry and play golf or something.” Trump’s mockery wasn’t relegated just to the electoral losers. He also said Sunday that the winners were too modest. “Half the times [the winners] put them in the administration — that’s how they get rid of them,” Trump said of the losing candidates. This line of thought has not stopped Trump from graciously accepting endorsements from other candidates who have dropped out of the presidential race. Trump frequently touts his support from Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson. During a news conference in February announcing Christie’s endorsement, Trump lauded Christie’s tenure as a governor and his barbs during the Republican presidential debates. “Generally speaking, I’m not big on endorsements,” Trump said, adding, “This was an endorsement that really meant a lot.”

He cannot help himself,he is one of those rare, but egotistical, obnoxious,Texas scruzebots that think that there is only one state in the union. Thank the Lord there are huge numbers of Texas freepers that are not like them.

Go ahead, get me banned for daring to mock Dear Leader Donald. Until then, I’ll keep calling it as I see it. It’ll be a sad day here at FR when honest criticism of any politician is forbidden.

If Trump loses, it will be a generation before someone like him is willing to run again.

Generation my foot, it won't happen again until the complete and utter collapse of the economy.

I guess he thinks it’s ok for a 50 year old pervert dressed like a woman to use the restroom with his granddaughters.

And just like so many others, you think Trump should step right into the Left's minefield.

There are so many other ways to deal with issues like this besides vowing to add another law to the federal register.

Can't you see that they go out of their way to set these "no win" traps, and "conservatives" just can't wait to jump right in.

No wonder we lose all the time.

I'm willing to commit to vote for the Republican nominee, even if it's Trump - a man who I believe is not a whit more conservative than Romney or Giuliani.

Will you likewise commit to vote for the Republican nominee??

“If Trump loses, it will be a generation before someone like him is willing to run again.”

If Trump loses, then the USA as it is currently and tenuously configured will cease to exist. What we will become as a country next year, let alone a generation from now, is anyone’s guess. And it won’t be good; you can bet on that.

The fact that you think the dirty, rotten, corrupt political delegate system is really excellent, and particularly because they might choose someone the VOTERS DID NOT, proves that you are part of the problem.

Are you a political operative youreslf in some way?

I guess many would consider us part of the 1-2%. While we are comfortable, we don't mindlessly buy things just because we're bored.

However, each incrementally higher income level brings increased ennui. I had my wife's Rolex repaired a few months ago; parked in front were around 10 Bentleys & Ferraris.

The shop owner said it was a resident of the luxury condo above. He was a regular customer who bought an expensive watch once a week, and a new super-car once a month. This person had no reasonable outlet for his money, so he consoled himself playing with trinkets.

But for those who can essentially afford anything, the acquisition/retention of power provides the ultimate diversion. As you mention, once you get into multi-generational aspects, and include international trade, tax havens, foreign policy, etc then the game becomes progressively more complex and entertaining.

Fitzgerald was right; Hemingway misunderstood what he meant with his reply "Yes, they have more money". The founders knew very well the personalities at play - it's why they established the checks & balances.

They also knew the system would require constant vigilance, otherwise is would eventually be overwhelmed. The resulting corruption we have today is a product of nature - "normal" people cannot hope to compete with sociopaths. Witness the Clintons as exhibit #1.

The inability of regular people to even recognize what they are, much less mount an effective defense, is the reason non-governmental institutions like the two major political parties are so entrenched.

What do you mean by “conservative”, anyway?

To me, conservatism means reducing the size and scope of the federal government, and in particular the Presidency, to those functions explicitly authorized by the Constitution.

I wonder what makes you think that Trump is not conservative, then.

If the steal the election from Trump (the only way he’ll lose), we won’t have a country much longer. North American Union and millions upon millions of central Americans and mozlems will outnumber actual Americans in a short time.

So True...If Trump doesn't win, by the next election, if there is one, there won't be enough Patriotic Americans to hold on to America...

Even now they are destroying our history...The kids coming up will have no roots...

Trump has turned the light on the Republican Party and we grass roots Republicans can see that the Republican Party is not at all what we thought it was...

The Cruz supporters now support Kasich, Jeb, Soros, Hillary and every other weasel who wants to destroy America...

More than anything else, it’s the constant theme of the President ordering business owners around, and picking winners and losers in the economy. Most Freepers seem to be upset when Obama does that sort of thing.

I think that the GOP needs to firmly stand by the rules they put in place before this election season started.

The rules state that the new rules that will affect THIS election will not be drawn up and go into effect until AFTER they find out who wins the primary...This way they can write the rules which can eliminate the winner...

The best thing for Trump to do is to go win more primaries so he can sew it up on the 1st ballot.

Haven't you been paying any attention at all??? The game is rigged...They are not letting Trump delegates participate...

“I wish we had someone better”. I’d like to think Trump is genuine but I honestly have a hard time trusting him that he won’t become like the typical two-faced politician we see all the time.

You mean like Cruz, who has been talking out both sides of his mouth during this entire process???

I’d like to think Trump is genuine

Even if he is not how could he be as bad a Kasich??? Kasich supprts everything a Republican should be against...He's even funded by one of Hillary's sources of cash, George Soros...Trump couldn't be as bad as Kasich if he drew up a blueprint and tried to follow it...

“So either sCruz and K-sick would be o.k. with you for president? Man, if anyone is “scared of anything,” it’s me being scared of you! People with only double digit IQ’s should not be allowed to vote.”

This is exactly why I can’t stand Trump. Trump, and his supporters like you, insult people and put them down for not being for Trump. The thought of 4 years of listening to this kind of garbage from Trump and his minions makes me ill. Your man is not perfect and anyone who doesn’t think so is not intelligent.

Regardeless of what you think, I think of myself being fairly intelligent. Intelligent enough that I don’t have act like my favorite presidential candidate and insult people I don’t even know.

I was for Cruz the minute he got in the race. But he has since disappointed me to the point I don’t have confidence or trust in him anymore. I was never for Kasich and I never took Trump seriously as a candidate and still don’t.

So in the end, for me, this is 2008 and 2012 all over again. I have to vote for substandard Republican nominee in order to try and stop a Socialist/Communist Democrat for being elected.

If Trump is elected President, come talk to me in four years and we’ll how truthful all that “bulid a wall” and “deport them all” talk was. I will be expecting, no wall, touch back amnesty, a very pro LGTB and abortion agenda, higher taxes and, at best, a stagnent economy. I’ll be rolling the dice voting for Trump, hoping what my gut tells me about him isn’t so.

I believed that Trump was the only one who could beat Hillary because he could take NY’s 29 EVs and that would sink her. But, I’m not so sure now that he sided with the perverts on the NC Restroom Law. (Do a Google Search.) I know he said it’s a matter for the States, but, he did not renounce it. I guess he thinks it’s ok for a 50 year old pervert dressed like a woman to use the restroom with his granddaughters.

We don't know what Trump is thinking...Transvestites don't have beards nor do they wear dresses and high top leather work boots...Transvestites look like women...Good looking women...With their clothes on you'd never know it was really a man...

And these transvestites have been using the ladies bathrooms forever without anyone knowing the difference...It would be mighty strange if these very feminine looking men had to start using the men's bathroom, because they look and dress like women...

Apparently these men (who generally take hormones to lose facial hair and grow breasts) have not been an issue as far as child molestation goes since we never hear anything about it...They may be more likely inclined to molest young boys if they were into molesting children...

It would be tough to get all the transvestites to come forward and admit they were men (and that's the only way you'd know without doing an under the dress inspection)...

Now the men who put on a wig and a dress with a 5 o'clock shadow is another story altogether...
