Americans Overwhelmingly Engaged in 2016 Election (TRUMP ONLY DOWN 3 WITH MOE of 3!)

The 2016 presidential election is on the top of most Americans’ minds, according to the latest George Washington University Battleground Poll. Despite, or perhaps because of, the high level of engagement, voters have negative views of almost all major candidates, and report the tone of the race is wearing on them.

The bipartisan GW Battleground Poll, conducted in partnership with The Tarrance Group and Lake Research Partners, asked likely voters how closely they’ve followed the presidential campaign over the last year. Eighty-nine percent reported they’ve followed the race either “very” or “somewhat” closely. More than half (52 percent) of respondents reported receiving updates on the campaigns via social media.

The GW poll found that of the five candidates still in the race for the highest office, only two—Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders and Ohio governor John Kasich—have an unfavorable rating below 50 percent, at 44 and 29, respectively. The other three—former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (56 percent), Texas Senator Ted Cruz (55 percent) and businessman Donald Trump (65 percent)—are all mostly disliked.

All the candidates with unfavorable ratings above 50 percent also have a majority of voters saying that they would not consider voting for them for president. When asked about increasingly visible former President Bill Clinton, respondents showed more positive views toward the non-candidate, with 54 percent favorable and 41 percent unfavorable toward him.

In a head-to-head matchup of each party’s frontrunner, Mrs. Clinton leads Mr. Trump by only 3 percentage points nationally (46 to 43; 11 percent undecided). Comparatively, Mr. Sanders fares slightly better against Mr. Trump (51/40/10).

I have a colleague who is very very liberal foreign black man. Has been an Obama loyalist from day one.

He stopped ME the other day, almost sheepishly, and offered, “You know, I think I can see myself voting for Trump.” I really thought he was joking and dug a little deeper.

Either he was doing a very good job of putting me on or he was serious. And he hasn’t joked around before about this stuff.

I think he meant it.

Anecdotal, I know....but very interesting.

I really think Trump is going to absolutely destroy Hillary in a massive landslide, unless he slips up and says something so offensive like the “N” word but I doubt it. I really think when the smoke clears he’s going to come out of this looking like a hero, the guy who finally busted up the corrupt backstabbing punks who have been a bane on this country for far too long, and oddly enough I really think that is why is running. Like everyone else he had enough and liberals can see that as well. A lot of democrats are pretty shocked by what Obama has been doing as well.

“Congress still has about 9% unfavorable and they continue to get reelected. “

District gerrymandering GUARANTEES almost none of the Congressional districts ever turn over, and the parties mostly control the primaries.

Trump vs Hillery will make Reagan vs Carter look like a close call.

Trump will destroy her.

Word.
The history books are being written. Political strategists are not getting their calls returned. Media pundits are flexing their opinions.

This election has changed the way politicians do business with voters.

This cycle, it’s safe to say 60% to 70% of the voting public is paying very close attention. I would say 30% of that number are shocked and disgusted with what they see as party politics (the rest of us knew it was rigged).

Trump is the only candidate creating optimism and a fighting sense of protecting this country and getting the government off our backs.

Best Reality TeeVee show ever!

And after its over the “engaged” will be back to drooling over who’s winning American Idolatry and Dancing with the Perverts in between commercials for Beer, Erectile Dysfunction, Sleeping Pills, Antidepressants, and Depends.
