Wilkes-Barre, PA
Wilkes-Barre was founded in 1769 and formally incorporated in 1806. The city grew rapidly after the discovery of nearby coal reserves and the arrival of hundreds of thousands of immigrants. The city reached the height of its prosperity in the first half of the 20th century when its population reached just over 86,000. Following World War II, the city's economy declined and the Knox Mine disaster accelerated this trend when large portions of the area's coal mines were flooded. Today the city has a population of 41,498, making it the 13th largest city in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

No Todays Trivia as I can barely keep up with this man posting where the rallies are with a few photos. So, like in times past, lets spend the day in prayer and meditation for Trump and his family, our precious country and the people that are the forum. Has anyone heard from our dear friend WVKayaker? Hes down under and was down under. Lets also give thanks to Jim Robinson for having the insite years ago to start this wonderful site. More than ever, its been a welcome retreat for many of us these past difficult 8 years.
If you haven't become a monthly donor do so, even for $5 per month.
I like that three bite rule of thumb.
KaSick acts like he hasn’t eaten in month.
It IS disgusting.
Poor guy must be starving, out on that PAC paid campaign trail.
Maybe funds REALLY are drying up!!
what is wrong with him, he knows everyone is watching...PLEASE...this crows is fired up one of the best I have heard.....GO TRUMP!
You know what I find interesting Jane, Trump has been hammering on the loss of Jobs since day 1. Recently the BLS monthly jobs report came out and I believe the media was touting it as the best in 42 years.
Why hasn’t the media jumped all over Trump about this? I believe it is because these stats out of the Labor department have been finagled for a long time and if they did Trump would expose them for what they are...
What’s really gross...is how he keeps right on yammering, through EACH and every bite. Eeeeeew!!!
Too funny that Trump slammed him for this, at the rally, earlier.
Maybe that is the answer. He is starving, no money for food. :)
Good morning, all. WVK reporting for duty!
It's been a long week (almost 2), and the meds are already doing their job. I am awake and can sit for a while without heading to the CR (comfort room). What a relief. I have a cup of coffee for the first time in more than a week.
I had to chuckle about the comments on eating pizza with a fork and rice with chopsticks. Pizza is finger food. Rice, however is cultural. It depends on how you were taught as a child. I have seen numerous pictures of Brits eating their peas on the side of a bread knife with mash potatoes to keep them from falling off.
But, rice is another story. In America, we eat our rice with butter or gravy. So, naturally, it is eaten with either fork or spoon. In many countries, they use chopsticks as they were taught as little ones. But, in more countries than not, rice is a base or staple and other things are added to supplement the rice or flavor it.
So, eating utensils are available, but most often the rice and add-ons are eaten with fingers. Forks are optional here in the Philippines, but most meals are served with a large spoon and a knife. Despite having them available, fingers are still the modus operandi for most Filipinos.
The picture below is from a "boodle fight". Instituted as a way to serve soldiers, it is now a common sight among large group servings. They spread rice in the middle of the banana leaves, and then add meats, fish, veggies, and whatever else along the sides. It becomes a "fight" because the one who eats faster can eat more. I have been involved in these events, and they are fun, though messy!
Once again, thanks to all my FRiends here who have sent well wishes and prayers. "My God will supply all your needs", and mine as well!
Vote Trump!
It does result in eating less food before feeling satisfied.
ContesTED
So great to hear from you, dear FRiend!!
And, so thankful that the meds are kicking in and you’re kicking back at what has had you under the weather.
The only time Mom ever made rice, for us, was when we had upset tummies. Don’t ask me why, but that’s why/when she did.
That ‘boodle fight’ looks like really good eating...fresh veggies, fresh fish....yum!!
Don’t let KaSick get wind of this tradition, though! :- /
BIG ((hugs)) to you.....so happy to hear from you.

I KNOW.... I am about to say something really bad about living with Condit, sick bunch of perverts...GOD helps us!
Likely possibility. They (USG) know they’ve been fibbing/fudging the labor numbers, all along. Trump would indeed - call them out.
Hey there,WVK!!
It is a wonderful thing to have you back here. Glad to hear you are doing better.
Say hi to Marlene—another Trump rally in 13 minutes.
This man exhausts us!

Be well.
Great story!!!

We have an Aid epidemic from heroine needles in a beautiful area. Scottsburg once thriving is half deserTED
So glad you are doing better. I missed seeing your posts!
What's with the Karate Kid in the row behind the podium?
Vote Trump!
