Ford pardoned Nixon without him being tried and/or convicted.

Nixon pleaded nolo contendere, a legal term that comes from the Latin word for “I do not wish to contend.” It is also referred to as a plea of no contest.

ICBW (but I don't think so) but wasn't that Agnew? Since Nixon was never charged, there would be no reason for him to make any plea at all.
