Nah, as interesting as it sounds, I think Newt would be a better special adviser to the President, or how about naming him the U.N ambassador. The U.N needs vision, and Newt will certainly bring vision. Vision with the U.S being prominent.
The UN either needs to be dissolved or evicted off the soil of the US. In both circumstances, the US would no longer be a part of it.
