Watching Manafort on FNS.

Wallace intro is about Trump changing tone, new candidate, etc. Played clips from NY victory speech.

The boss is looking to tone it down. Manafort is behind the effort to get the RNC to rally around Trump.

Plays clip from Manafort meeting, where Trump says he has been "playing a part." Manafort says they are evolving the campaign, not the candidate. Wallace tries to spin this as Trump is changing. Manafort says this issue was brought up in Trump's speech in Waterbury - when Trump is in a rally, he will treat it as a rally, and when he is giving a policy speech, he will treat it as a more serious subject.

Plays clip from Cruz - Trump doesn't believe anything he is saying, he is telling us he is lying to us.

Manafort says "There's the liar." He's losing, he's trying to change the narrative. We never said Trump wasn't going to build the wall. Cruz needs to change the subject, and will probably come in third in the next 5 states. He just makes things up when he is cornered.

Wallace says Cruz had a good weekend - Cruz has been getting supporters as delegates. Cruz "got" 65 delegates, Trump got 2. Manafort says what Cruz got was zero, the only vote that counts is the one cast at the convention. Cruz doesn't care about the election; at the last minute (in Maine) broke the deal he made, he steamrolled the outcome he wanted.

Cruz is causing party disruption. It doesn't hurt Trump.

Now trying to attack Manafort for his past roles in foreign elections, e.g., Marcos in the Philippines, and in the Ukraine. Manafort says his role was to bring Ukraine into Europe.

Now sating the Trump campaign is a Washington lobbyist apparatus. Manafort says the people involved in the Trump campaign haven't been lobbying for many years. Trump is clearly an outsider. Manafort says this is Cruz trying to confuse the point that Cruz is going to be unable to get 1237 on the first ballot.

Manafort says Trump is working with party officials

Wallace brings up the bathroom issue, tries to paint Trump as waffling. Manafort says what happens is what Trump said, state's rights issue.

Wallace says coming up are policy speeches using teleprompters, is the "new team" going to drag Trump kicking and screaming to being presidential? Manafort says "not a new team, expanded team."

An exchange worth watching. I'll post a link to transcript after it's made available. wallace was totally hostile, tried to get a rise out of Manafort. Didn't work.

Fantastic job reporting on the Fox news segment that was supposed to undermine the Trump campaign Cboldt. You must have been a court recorder!

Crissy indeed was just flat out nasty to Manafort and absolutely failed rattle the Trump campaign representative. The MSM is desperate to stop the inevitable Trump nomination. After Tuesday they know that the finish line will be in sight and the momentum will be enough to hit 1237+ delegates.

Superb report. Paul Manafort is cool under pressure and doesn’t suffer fools like Wallace. It’s so reassuring when he adamantly declares there will be no second ballot.
Over on CNN’s State of the Union, Donald Trump Jr. was fabulous in his interview with Jake Tapper. Don Jr was on camera from Scranton PA and ripped into the arcane delegate process in that state. Both interviews are definitely worth another look. CNN @NOON ET and Fox @2PM & 6PM.
BTW, FNC has a Town Hall Special @8PM—I’m not sure if Trump will be involved.

Fox News Sunday - April 24, 2016 Transcript

BEN DOMENECH, THE FEDERALIST: Well, first off, within the context of the discussion about bathrooms, keep in mind there are fewer transgender people in America, according to the best estimates than we have than there are registered sex offenders. In this case, I think that's actually the thing that people are concerned about. They're less concerned about transgender people coming into bathrooms than they are men using this as a way to get into locker rooms with women and to exploit that opportunity to participate in some kind of criminal act.

I think that's something that is a concern among a lot of Americans. The polls generally show that favoring sort of the -- these types of policies has actually increased since this debate has started.

On the side of Trump, I think this is part of the piece of what we've seen in the past, a month ago after he ran the table in Florida, in Missouri, and in Illinois and in North Carolina, there was this -- all this talk about he is going to shift to being more presidential and instead, he embarked on a series of gaffs and own goals that undermined his own ability to coalesce and to unite the party.

What we've seen over the past week since he won in New York is again, you know, reverting to these personalized attacks, calling for weakening the pro-life plank of the party, getting to the left of Hillary Clinton on transgender issues, you know, coming out in favor of raising taxes, insulting his opponents' names, and coming out again just the other day and suggesting in spite of all of the legal decisions that have gone against it, that Ted Cruz is not going to be a qualified candidate for the presidency because he is not a naturalized citizen.

This is not someone who is interested in uniting the party. If it's so easy to be presidential, why doesn't he try it for five minutes?

Blockquote not for any point other than I thought it was interesting. I don't agree with Mr. Domenech, that's for sure, and notice his use of the words "naturalized citizen," likely deliberate obfuscation going forward. "Naturalized, natural born, what's the difference?" sort of sleight of hand. Say the opposition is accusing Cruz of not being naturalized, then when it is shown that Cruz is naturalized, say "see, the opposition was wrong," and voila, eligibility is established in the eyes of the public.
