An interesting observation but, following that logic, doesn't Trump himself equal "NeverCruz" at this point. Indeed, aren't all political contest "NeverEveryoneElse" at some point. I have never heard of an active candidate supporting or looking out for the interest of his opponent.
When Donald Trump sweeps these Northeast states and gets the lion's share of their delegates, and with Cruz coming in last place multiple times, it's clear that Indiana will go for Trump as well, which will be still more confirmation of Trump's inevitability,
If you are really confident of this, what better outcome could be attained than to have a candidate who won a clear majority on his own merits rather than to win by default.
This is evolving into a mere formality, with Ted Cruz trying to clearly monkey wrench the process, and refusing to face reality, with all the attendant pitfalls and negative ramifications, and zero benefit other that to feed his own ego.
Ted Cruz's egotism and narcissism make Donald Trump's pale in comparison at this point, since if the situation were reversed, the call for Trump's withdrawal would be deafening.
Now is the time to unite. If not, certainly Wednesday morning at the latest.
Cruz is really being blind at this point.
