I like what you-tube is doing with regards to directly paying the creators of content.
It’s provided a pathway for revitalizing music creators for example — without the notorious music bidness sinking it’s fangs into the musicians.
You can learn practically anything there. I’ve learned everything from how to fix the carb on my snowblower to how to make spheres on my milling machine.
Want to know how to use a lathe? A Plasma cutter? A compressor limiter on the sound board at church? Search for it on YouTube. Presto!
My daughter’s learning how to play blues and jazz bass.
I use it every week to learn the songs we’ll be playing in church.
And YouTube is paying royalties to the creators of that content - everybody from the guy showing folks how to turn the minilathe in their shop, to the musicians performing their own work or doing covers of other’s
It’s pretty cool.
