It has taken me decades to unterstand why we have open primarys and close primarys caucuses and the like.
Short answer....
The Stat parys will nominate the candidate and you have a vote in the general election.
Most states allow votes from the people in the primarys but it is purely up to the state and the party to set the rules.
I dont have to like it but that is how it has been forever.

I guarantee those GOPers who discount Trump’s 1237+ delegate win will rue the day they snatched victory away from a contest that was won by the rules. If their determination to support their candidate means throwing the election to Hillary, they will do it. If they do, there will be hell to pay for the Republican Party.
How do they expect to do it? Will they buy off the Trump delegates with call girls? Will they pay for all their evening dinners and entertainment? Will they slip a G note with their hand shake? How about a private jet ride to Paris for a dinner in an expensive four star restaurant or a Mediterranean cruise? How about this one: How about a Thailand Adult Sex Vacation? Bank on it: There is no action beneath the corruption of those who oppose Trump.

Live in your fantasy world.... Trump forced the Obama crew to produce a born in the USA birth certificate for Obama. NONE will ever produce such for Teddy. MY problem is that my introduction to Ted Cruz was, he followed the 'original intent' of the Constitution.... Well except he thinks he is entitled to be Obama II in all stripes. What part of a 'natural born' Canadian, Harvard Law school grad, junior senator, escapes your common sense brain. Cruz's problem is there is NO groundswell for the first Cuban Canadian born president.
If me and the pregnant wife are vacationing in France and she delivers the baby on French soil and the French government extends citizenship THAT does NOT delete American citizenship.

I am yet to be convinced that Ted Cruz is actually an American citizen, period. He will NEVER EVER be a natural born US citizen.
If Teddy’s eligibility is contested in court, I hope they drag out Zer0’s Hawaiian birth certificate to prove the true precedence that allowed an illegible person to win the White House.

If you want to bring that baby back to American soil you have to go to the American embassy and register his birth because the French hospital is not giving him a US birth certificate

The Governor of Maine had 2 children born in Canada and he had to get the US Embassy to naturalize both of them
