1. If Trump is the nominee, I'll vote for him.

>>Cruz is underperforming.

2. This isn't about Cruz.  It's about what sort of damage control conservatives can expect to be doing as President Trump wobbles America down the path.

What sort of 'conservative' picks a campaign manager who has a history of collaborating with COMMUNIST oligarch thugs?

He also worked as an adviser on the Ukrainian presidential campaign of Viktor Yanukovych[9] even as the U.S. government (and McCain) opposed Yanukovych because of his ties to Russia's Vladimir Putin.[4] Manafort was hired to advise Yanukovych months after massive street demonstrations known as the Orange Revolution overturned Yanukovych's victory in the 2004 presidential race. [10] Borys V. Kolesnikov, Yanukovich’s campaign manager, said the party hired Manafort after identifying organizational and other problems in the 2004 elections, in which it was advised by Russian strategists. [9]

"On 10 July 2006 a new parliamentary majority titled the "anti-crisis coalition", led by the Party of Regions and including the Socialist Party and the Communist Party, was formed, nominating Viktor Yanukovych to the post of prime minister."

A lobbyist a kind of lawyer. Lawyers advocate for their clients, even when they’re less than savory. When Cruz was a private practice lawyer he also advocated for some less than stellar human beings:

“Among them, Mr. Cruz helped defend a Chinese tire company facing a $26 million jury verdict for copying technology stolen from a U.S. businessman, work that contrasts with the current anti-China rhetoric of rival Donald Trump. He also participated in two New Mexico personal-injury cases that sought to preserve historically large punitive damages, despite supporting sharp limits on such payouts elsewhere.”

Cruz vigorously advocated for his clients, just as Manafort vigorously advocated for his.

Unless you've got a factory refurbished Magic 8 Ball, there is nothing to indicate that America is going to 'wobble' with President Trump in office. He's got Senator Jeff Sessions as part of his organization, Phyllis Schlafly, the Godmother of modern conservatism is solidly behind Trump, Sarah Palin as well, Trump has plenty of conservative allies, advisers and supporters.

And NONE of them have been shrieking away about Paul Manafort. Manafort may have done some consulting in the Ukraine, but that doesn't make him a 'collaborator'.

Manafort was a key adviser in Reagan's campaigns, so what's your problem with him?

Not about Cruz? What a quaint notion. To the trumpers, every misstep by Trump is directly blamed on Cruz.

I’m amazed you didn’t know that.
