Cruz will never suspend, and here's why:

Robert Morris Announces Solemn Assembly of 75,000 Pastors at Cowboy Stadium in July 2016

Just in time for the GOP and Dem National Conventions, Robert Morris and friends want to get 75,000 pastors in Dallas’ Cowboy Stadium to pray for the nation. Morris announced the big solemn assembly in his Saturday (8/8/15) sermon at the Southlake campus of Gateway Church. ... The national conventions for both parties are also in July. This looks like a perfect occasion to organize for the GOP nominee. The timing makes it seem more like a political event than a prayer meeting.

The people putting on this meeting are Cruz's big religious backers. It is nominally a non-political event, in reality it will be a Cruz-fest.

If Cruz drops out now, he pulls the rug out from under his supporters that behind this event. He at least has to give them time to hold the event and "pray a miracle" and put Ted into the White House.

Remember, much of Ted's religious support comes from the Pentecostal wing of Christianity. They believe that not only their prayers, but their words can shape reality (hence the "name it and claim it" theology).

They would view Cruz dropping out now as demonstrating a lack of faith.

Did not know that.

Hopefully he come to his senses and realizes that at least when he can no longer even stop Trump from reaching 1237 he hangs it up for this cycle.

It has to be so very hard for a candidate to spend so much time and energy to throw in the towel. But Cruz is already damaging himself, and continuing on beyond a loss in Indiana with a crushing defeat in California on the horizon is political suicide.
