So the bathroom and abortion comments were olive branches to the establishment?

'Cruz tries to smooth things over with GOP insiders'

Cruz does not need to "smooth things over with the GOPe", he is the GOPe point man for the GOPe #NeverTrump. Just look at who is backing Cruz. Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, Lindsey Gram, Paul Ryan, Carly Fiorina, Nicky Haley, Golden Sachs, The Club for Growth, the entire globalist GOPe establishment.

If the title of the article was ‘Cruz tries to smooth things over with GOP insiders’ how would you react differently to it?

We would be told how that’s more evidence that Lyn’ CnadianCuban Cruz is a Globalist, Goldman Sachs, GOPe lackey.

I wonder which one can change America?

Anyone can change America. Obama changed America.

The question is change it to what. The truth is, we have no idea what a Trump presidency would look like. he’s been all over the place on various issues over the years(see my tagline) Cruz supporters are also for jobs, the economy, national security, patriotism, and immigration.

Your candidate is more rotten than our candidate? I guess it could make for a catchy campaign slogan.

I think the American people are going to wish they had different candidates to choose from between Hillary and Trump

I agree Cruz supporters are for those things but is Cruz? I think Cruz wants to fix social issues which is great but like trump, he’ll have a congress that will stop him at ever turn.

In his compromise on Hannity, he pivoted the same way Ted always does when he’s in a jam. He said leave it up to the states to decide what to do with their bathrooms. Its not a federal issue.

So, you don’t see a difference between personality and character?

Do you really believe that Cruz is against jobs and the economy and the other things you listed? Stop for a moment and read what you typed.

And if a President Cruz has a Congress that will stop him at every turn, what makes you believe they’ll bend over for a President Trump.

Two to three years ago, people like Cruz, and Rand Paul and Mike Lee were heros around here. Yeah, they took a few votes that can be called into question and took positions that are open to criticism, but they were a thorn in the side of Boehner, McCain, Graham, ect

Now,someone comes along whose contributed money to the campaigns of people we conservatives have been fighting and tells people those three are Satan’s spawn and his followers believe him without any doubt. I get the rough and tumble fight of a primary election and it can get nasty. But that doesn’t mean one must parrot without question the rhetoric both men toss at each other.

There was a time were Cruz’s eligibility to run for president was settled here and would have earned a zot. Even Trump agreed Cruz was eligible. Then, Trump started to discover Cruz was more of a challenge than he thought and then changed his mind and his followers did, also.

I don’t fault Trump for meeting with GOP insiders to smooth things over. Such is the reality of what he has to do to get their support and work for their endorsements if he expects to have a chance with Hillary. But, as someone pointed out, the same people who are ok with this because it’s Trump would be wailing and screaming if it was Cruz who was the nominee and doing this. And yes, I believe Trump is the nominee. I don’t see Cruz winning the nomination

I think Cruz is good on issues and had he stayed focused on issues, he probably be the nominee. But he basically did a Rubio and started bashing trump a lot more then necessary. Don’t you think 99 percent of trump supporters would vote Cruz in the general if he got it? Yes for sure! Primary in 2012 was pretty bad to among perry, near and Santorum supporters. Problem was we all got screwed. Lol.

“So, you don’t see a difference between personality and character?”

I suppose it depends on how you define those terms, Ed.

If you really don’t get it, maybe this will help:

https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/happiness-in-world/201104/personality-vs-character

i.e., a person with a flawed character might not understand what the meaning of “is” is.

“If you really don’t get it, maybe this will help”

Oh, I get it, Ed. It’s just that flawed personalities can be as destructive as flawed characters.

If you go back through enough issues of PT through the years I think you will see that.

You can’t slip by with that partner. “Trump said. “People go, they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate. There has been so little trouble.” I don’t care what bathroom they use.
I don’t think Cruz said “I don’t care if people get abortions or not. Let them go ahead. whatever... Nice try. Rationalize away...lol
