The F-35 is one of most complex weapons ever developed. All planes have issues during development. Granted schedules have slipped, but I expect when it’s all said and done the F-35 will be a world class fighter, second only to the F-22 while being more capable in the air-to-ground role. Its sensor integration and communication functions will also be unmatched.
