“No, and that’s not the point. The BC just establishes the legal basis for prosecution if the cops answer a complain from a citizen about a man in the women’s room.

Absent the BC law, a hairy chested hetero pervert can walk into a women’s room,

Well see here is the problem that the NC law never addressed.

That not all of these people are “hairy chested “. Some are not obvious at all. Too many people on our side put up this image, legit as it is, and then act stunned when the other side brings out people that don’t remotely look like that. Now we look like we aren’t even smart enough to craft a bill to deal with a real danger.

And we end up looking like idiots because now we have to explain how are we going to police a law that is so broad that some butch female or some skinny dude with long hair can be detained while we check birth certificates.

So in the end the issue is lost, and the pervs have open access.

“The BC law gives the women the right to complain, and the cops will have the knowledge that the obvious guy they’re arresting “

So what if it’s a girl with short hair? A lanky guy with long hair?

So now that person sues the store, the person that complains, the city and the state, and the law gets tossed.

“But congrats for adopting so readily the left’s ridiculous strawman”

Is it a straw man, or is it just someone thinking it through and seeing how badly executed this law was, leaving things in a worse predicament now that NC ditched their own bill.

None of that addresses the situation I posed, which is that under the NC law, you really can't prevent even obvious males from using female-only public facilities.

A law that prevents at least that, even if it is not a foolproof detection device for all actual trannies, is still a heck of a lot better than no law at all.

Bottom line -- do you support the law North Carolina passed, or not, and would you support a similar law in your state?
